History

I had a very rewarding 36-year career coaching football, track and cross country in the Houston area, having the privilege to work alongside some of the best coaches in our profession. Many of these coaches are still my dearest friends. One of those friends needed some help after a hurricane devastated his home. Many former players and coaches came to help and through that simple act of kindness, Fellowship of Retired Coaches came to be.

In 2020 a board of directors was created and FRC was approved for non-profit status. We began hosting socials around the Houston area and in 2021 we hosted our first golf tournament fundraiser in Spring, Texas. We have since raised over $25,000 for our student scholarship fund. In 2025 we are adding scholarships for coaches, trainers, and athletic directors as well as for their spouses. Bringing our total number of scholarships to 8! We will be hosting a second scholarship fundraiser, a skeet shooting tournament in Clifton, Texas.

Our goal is to be a statewide organization that is committed to maintaining growth, comradery and fellowship for the Texas coaching profession.
